Considering how far-reaching all the Steampunk concept is, why won’t we begin unwrapping my life as a long-loving Steampunk enthusiast?
Not only is my story about finding the attachment towards the fascinating subculture similar to my predecessors, because we simply can’t deny all that ageless beauty that comes with dozens of options to combine. Especially when you’re in the need to get exactly that specific perfect look, that you crave for.
It completely started to take over the entire world over the past decade! And believe me guys, you will get a complimentary raised eyebrow even from the modern-day fashionistas;)
my life as a long-loving Steampunk enthusiast
My personal ride started when I was around 16, being mostly in denial about what anybody wears and follows, the only thing that mattered to me was my vision and what I REALLY desired.
One thing led to another and I ended up sewing my clothes entirely from scratch, with a little help of being born to a professional dressmaker family, I was already aware of making my own sketches/cuts and the basics.
Overtime understandably, it became more of an obsession to find easier access to all the features needed, but thankfully the world progresses quickly and it didn’t take long for me to start collecting essential details around the internet with a little extra as an added DIY:)
As a grown-up woman (36), mother, and a wife now I even find it with an ease to mixture the look and the vibe occasionally depending on the event without going overboard but still having the edge by still spreading the word of Steampunk! And being accepted has been by far the least I’ve gained from surroundings! In a massively positive way ofc. But suppose there’s always going to be haters, but what do they know huh?! Saying: “Men should dress like men!” right?
But honestly…even My long trip continues after all these years until we’re gifted with the ideas, the good finds and the loyalty towards the global lifestyle…hands down, it is here to stay!:)
The Global lifestyle
Speaking of the outlook in general. Not only we can talk about the extremely superficial and outstanding style elements, it goes even deeper when you start exploring all the “second” matter stuff (for some people) that it has to offer…starting from books maybe?
Art, that you’ve seen somewhere or heard of that in fact rings a bell and all of a sudden gives you that instant bond, almost connects everything that you now find in Steampunk so intriguing and ageless. Of course the most important, forever reachable and unique!
One thing that I had some hard time comprehending at first over the years while been pursuing the lifestyle was that the uniqueness itself does extend itself repeatedly and this is what the Steampunk is all about:)

Where it started and how far we’ve come with the influences of Steampunk?

In my word, if you have the interests and knowledge in history already, there’s a good bite for you! Having some rarity that’s been carried around throughout centuries/decades between the close ones, make the best of it! It’s always the easiest coolest impression showing up carrying the most convenient and a truthful item as a “carry-on”. And please do not brake it!:D Reason I take good care of mine! In short, steampunk is all about imagining a different kind of past that meets the future, filled with cool inventions and a lot of creativity.
